Encouragement/Inspiration/Resources

Fun Stuff (for the Bored College Student)

  • Nikal: pretty colors… I could stare at this all day…
  • Neave: be a child again - in so many ways…
  • Hyperbole and a Half: (thanks to Katelyn for introducing me to this site) in a word, comedy.
  • The Art of Manliness: love it or laugh at it, it’s well-made, well-stocked, and well-updated
  • Trick of Mind: if you ever want to boggle your brain

More Practical/Pragmatic Matters

  • Archive: go back to archived versions of pages, along with access to .pdf archives of old, out-of-date manuscripts, among other things
  • Bartleby & Feedbooks: two good - out of many available - resources for all things old and literary (though if you know the exact title, Google will usually do a good job with all non-obscure works)
  • Zinch: still my number one choice for scholarship-scouting, connects with facebook
  • Grockit: not just a study-guide for the SAT and ACT, but also the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT (so get on it, lawyers-to-be); plus, it’s free test-prep and you can log in with your facebook account
  • The Art of Manliness: love it or laugh at it, it’s well-made, well-stocked, and well-updated
  • Free Software, Daily (GiveawayoftheDay): given how expensive software’s become, this is a good site to keep tabs on (just don’t download everything) - and for the “gamers” (but don’t get ahead of yourself), there’s also GameGiveawayoftheDay
